Presentation

I have come to the conclusion that presentation rules the world. I used to think people had discernment, which is what the brain was all about, but now realise that the brain has expectations, and is driven by those expectations. Many of which enter it before we are three years old and through education and family, enter it without much discernment.

Knowing people act more on what their brains expect and less on the information they receive from the world outside explains to me almost all the absurdities of history: from men following leaders, to tribal customs to Brexit.

I think society is a accumulation of individual hallucinatory states of mind which interpret the world to suit themselves.
